Major & Course Sequence - Spanish

To major in Spanish, 28 upper division semester hours of Spanish must be completed. Required courses include Spanish 300 or 301, three additional hours from Spanish 300-306, six hours from Spanish 325-496, three hours of literature from Spanish 400-490, 497 and 12 additional hours from Spanish 300-499. The office of the registrar has a listing of course descriptions in Spanish.

Additionally, majors complete a senior thesis under the guidance of a faculty advisor. A senior research project is required in order to complete the Spanish major.

Upon successful completion of the program, students receive a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Spanish. Students are encouraged to pursue a second major or a minor.
