Modern Languages Chair Speaks at Conference
Presentation on Madrid authors
Dr. David Knutson, chair and associate professor of the department of modern languages, spoke at the 61st Kentucky Foreign Language Conference in Lexington on April 18. Dr. Knutson appeared on a panel focusing on recent crime fiction in Spain. His article, titled "Spanish Crime Fiction and Madrid: Looking Up, Moving Back," considered the increasing number of authors who set their stories in Madrid instead of Barcelona, which traditionally has been the center of detective writing in that country.
