Spanish Professor Speaks at Seminar in Mexico

Dr. Ignacio Rodeño, from the Department of Modern Languages, was invited by the Instituto José María Luis Mora (a research institution within the Mexican National Council of Science and Technology –CONACYT—) and by the Asociación Mexicana de Estudios del Caribe (Mexican Association of Caribbean Studies) to their seminar El Caribe: Visiones históricas de la Región (The Caribbean: Historical Views on the Region) from October 15 to the 22, 2006. Dr. Rodeño spoke to participants in the seminar (an audience of researchers, doctoral candidates, and graduate students) on the perceptions of the Caribbean by U.S. Latino writers and by Caribbean immigrants to the U.S.
