Hosting Responsibilities

Thank you for considering hosting one of the sessions for Life After AFMIX!

Here is a checklist of things you will want to do to help make your session successful:

Before the program:
- Come up with an idea for a topic (if you need one Joe Shadle has a list of possibilities)
- Call Joe Shadle to talk over the idea and possible presenters
- After conferring with Joe, invite a speaker, presenter, or discussion leader
- Talk with the presenter about what they will need for the program (technology, room arrangement, copies, etc.)
- Arrange for the presenter’s needs (order technology through classroom support services, parking pass if they are from off-campus, etc.)

On the day of the program:
- Arrive 15-20 minutes early and set up the room
- Greet the presenter and make sure that they have what they need for the program
- Formally introduce the presenter to the group
- Publicly thank the presenter after they are finished
- Provide a few minutes at the end of the program for next week’s host to talk about the presenter/topic for their session
- Make sure that the room is put back in order
