Ryan's Pub: Featured Article

Good friends develop long relationships at Xavier. Nobody knows that better than 1960 graduate Charles Gallagher. In tribute to his friend and former Xavier roommate, Stephen Ryan, the on-campus pub was named after him. Ryan’s Pub is located in the Gallagher Student Center, which was named in honor of Charles P. Gallagher. The 2002 recipient of the Founders’ Day Award, Gallagher matched $9 million in funds to help ensure that the new student center could be built. Gallagher remained close friends with Ryan until he passed away in 1981. A private dedication took place in Ryan’s Pub on September 26th, 2002. “This dedication serves to acknowledge a friend in college as one of the most significant relationships,” says Ron Sleptiza, vice president for student development.

Ryan's Pub is owned and operated by Andy Hajjar, the owner of Andy's Mediterranean. Ryan's is open every day of the week to provide students with traditional pub dining accompanied with the Middle Eastern touch of Andy's Mediterranean.

Ryan's Pub is also open to host student events. The event must be scheduled ahead of time and be hosted by a university sanctioned club or association.
