Mother Teresa of Calcutta
This stunning statue imitates the intimacy of Mother Teresa of Calcutta through her positioning on a campus bench. She sits on the right end but is facing towards the left end, giving those on campus that choose the bench for a moment of calm and rest the appearance of carrying on a casual chat with the great Superior general that started the order Missionaries for Charity.
Touch, compassion, and gentleness were defining attributes of Mother Teresa that this statue seems to emulate. Students, faculty, and staff alike often mistake her for a real person which speaks to the authenticity of the essence and nature of the statue.
