Albers Fountain
In 1998 the academic mall underwent extensive renovation. Though for a while it was difficult for students, faculty, and staff to maneuver through all of the construction, they would be rewarded with the beautiful two lane tessellated brick paths, some new foliage, and the spherical fountain that is so familiar to students today as they head down the mall. Though Universal Contracting was in charge of the mall, the fountain itself was constructed by various subcontractors and was designed by MSP Architects.
While the office of archives has no record of a donor or dedication ceremony, it is a popular place for students to sit and rest while watching the circular plates of water meet to create a bubble of water that is rather akin to a floating bubble.
