Spirit Celebration

Xavier Yard, Husman Hall Stage

Celebrate the beginning of the academic year.

University President Michael J. Graham, S.J., invites students, faculty, staff, friends, and their families to attend Spirit Celebtration:

  • All are invited, regardless of faith tradition, to Xavier's annual Mass of the Holy Spirit beginning at 1:30 p.m.
    • All attendees are asked to gather by 1:25 p.m. in the following locations:
      • Seniors and Graduate students by the D’Artagnan statue outside Cintas
      • Juniors by the new St. Francis Xavier statue near Smith Hall
      • Sophomores on the Upper Yard (rooftop garden plaza of Fenwick Place)
      • First-Year Students on the bottom of the Residential Mall outside Buenger
      • Faculty and Staff on the “X” outside Hinkle Hall
    • Spirit Celebration T-Shirts will be distributed to the first 100 people at each location.
    • Each group will process to the area by the Husman Hall stage to begin the Mass.
  • University President, Rev. Michael Graham, S.J. will preside and deliver the homily.
  • Sr. Rose Ann Fleming will give a reflection on the beginning of our academic year.
  • A community festival will follow the Mass.
