Student Organizations

GPHSA Student Organization

Our students are our proudest accomplishment. They come from a diversity of backgrounds, majors and geographic locations. Some enter the program with years of health care experience, others are just embarking on their career.

The make-up of each entering class also consists of a wide range of ages, interests and experiences. You will find being a student in our program means learning from your peers as well as in the classroom setting.

Healthcare Administration Student Professional Society

Our mission is "To create an environment that empowers future healthcare leaders by encouraging collaboration, innovation and education among members and healthcare professional organizations."

Members are required to be in one of these groups: American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Healthcare Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS), Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), American College of Healthcare Administrators (ACHA), Medical Group Management Association (MGMA), American College of Medical Practice Executives (ACMPE).

Community Involvement

During the Spring 2008 semester the Class of 2010 visited Fernside Center for Grieving Children to make scrapbooks of the different activities in which the children participated.

Other community service events included the Health Expo with the Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati and Walk Now for Autism.

Students also wrote grant proposals for four small non-for-profit organizations in greater Cincinnati. The grant proposals went before the grant review board which is made up of the part-time evening students in Professor Kent’s Strategic Marketing and Management class. The review board rewarded the best proposal - Fernside and Oral Health Council - with a $4,000 grant.
