graduate program: Health Services Administration

Student Organizations

GPHSA Student Organization

Our students are our proudest accomplishment. They come from a diversity of backgrounds, majors and geographic locations. Some enter the program with years of health care experience, others are just embarking on their career.

The make-up of each entering class also consists of a wide range of ages, interests and experiences. You will find being a student in our program means learning from your peers as well as in the classroom setting.

ACHE Chapter

Xavier University's student chapter of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) provides students with the opportunities to enhance the network, knowledge and leadership skills.

Our student chapter is very active and provides additional opportunities for direct interaction with health care professionals, this assists students in staying abreast of the new developments in health care management.

Community Involvement

During the Spring 2008 semester the Class of 2010 visited Fernside Center for Grieving Children to make scrapbooks of the different activities in which the children participated.

Other community service events included the Health Expo with the Center for Closing the Health Gap in Greater Cincinnati and Walk Now for Autism.

Students also wrote grant proposals for four small non-for-profit organizations in greater Cincinnati. The grant proposals went before the grant review board which is made up of the part-time evening students in Professor Kent’s Strategic Marketing and Management class. The review board rewarded the best proposal - Fernside and Oral Health Council - with a $4,000 grant.
