Community Service Update
Megan Johnston
Community Service Chairs
Students have been busy over the summer and during this semester volunteering for a variety of causes, donating more than 800 hours of their time to health care organizations, schools, fundraisers and community-based organizations. On Oct. 10, a team of 10 students participated in Cincinnati Walks for Kids, an annual fundraiser for Cincinnati Children?s Hospital Medical Center.
In addition, members of the second-year class have spent more than 100 hours helping with orientation of new students and recruitment efforts including tours, open houses and the first annual MHSA Preview Day. In the upcoming months, students plan to assist with Taste of the Neighborhood to benefit Mercy Neighborhood Ministries and to collect donations to provide Christmas gifts for a family in need.
