Welcome Class of 2015

Twenty-seven new full-time students were welcomed to campus this fall to begin their three-year journey as Xavier MHSA graduate students. The new class attended a two-day orientation, which included a team-building workshop presented by communications consultant, and former Xavier faculty member, Deborah Pearce.
This diverse class consists of students from around the country, representing eleven different states, from Washington to Florida, and one international student from Mumbai, Maharashtra. These full-time students earned their undergraduate degrees from twenty-two separate academic institutions. In fact, only two current first-year students earned their bachelor’s degree from Xavier, meaning the reputation, and competition, of Xavier’s MHSA program is growing!
We are also proud to introduce our five part-time MHSA students, who currently hold positions in health care organizations throughout the city. These organizations include Catholic Health Partners, New Century Health and The Christ Hospital. While the class size may be small, their diverse occupational backgrounds and knowledge can make for some exciting discussions which, according to Physical Therapist and part-time MHSA student, Dr. Allison Hermes, offers a better learning experience, overall.
