ACHE Dinner Update

Christina Swift

Alumni and friends of the program gathered in Chicago for our annual alumni dinner. The event is held every year in conjunction with the American College of Healthcare Executives Congress. This year was different from the past and more bittersweet as it was Dr. Ida Schick’s last dinner as Chair of the program. To honor her many accomplishments, the Alumni Association awarded her the inaugural Dr. Ed Arlinghaus Lifetime Achievement Award. When presenting her with the award, Alumnus Barry Cesfasky remarked “[Dr. Schick] became our Program Director during a critical period of growth. She has served us all well and guided our MHSA Program to the strong, prominent place that it holds today.”

Congratulations were also in order for Mr. David Dornheggen, the recipient of the annual Distinguished Alumni Service Award. During Mr. Dornheggen’s forty years in healthcare, he has always taken time to support the program? serving most recently as the Alumni Association President and also as a mentor for many Xavier students.

Approximately 130 alumni, staff, faculty and friends of the program were on hand to witness this special event and it was certainly a dinner to remember.
