Celebrating 50 Years
Ida Critelli Schick
Professor and Chair/Director
Xavier University established the graduate program in hospital administration in 1958 to provide professional training and education to current and future hospital administrators. Although the health care field has changed dramatically since then, the renamed program in health services administration (HSA) has maintained its reputation for academic excellence. The program continues to accomplish its mission by educating current and future health care administrators through interdisciplinary courses, residencies and relationships with alumni.
This year marks the program's 50th anniversary, and we're inviting you to help us celebrate this important milestone. So, mark your calendars for Friday, Oct. 10, for a daylong program that includes a presentation from internationally known futurist Jeff Goldsmith followed by a panel discussion and the opportunity to meet with faculty and other HSA alumni. The evening ends with a gala dinner.
We are also launching a new development campaign in conjunction with our 50th anniversary to generate increased student scholarship support, endowed chairs, a Center for Health Management Ethics, a Center for Health Informatics and faculty development funds. More information on the development campaign is forthcoming.
