Annual Alumni Dinner

Our recent trip to Chicago for the American Congress on Healthcare Executives (ACHE) was a great success. The week included great conversation and a number of networking opportunities, as well as the annual alumni dinner where we reflected on the successes of the program. The highlight of the evening was the Alumni of the Year award given to Dan Wolterman, Class of 1982 and CEO of Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston.

Members of our alumni association also took an active role in ACHE, including seminar presentations by Anthony Armada, President and CEO of Henry Ford Hospital and Health Network; Donald Hutson, CEO of Baptist Memorial Health Care; and James Brown, principal at Deloitte & Touche.

Students were able to promote the program and network with executives while they staffed our booth at the exhibit hall for the conference. ACHE is always an educational and informative trip for all involved, and we look forward to next year.

Alumni Update

Dave Dornheggen
President, HSA Alumni Association

A year ago we sent an e-mail survey to more than 500 alumni and found that one issue on most of their minds is how to stay in touch with the program. In response, we've developed a web site so alumni can keep current on program news, find out about career openings and network with other alumni. The site is in the final stages of production. We'll notify you when it's complete.

As you already know, the program is passing a huge milestone this year-50 years in existence. It's important that alumni join the celebration, so make plans to be in Cincinnati on Oct. 10. The University has major expansion plans, and this is an opportunity to address some of the programmatic issues that will propel the program for the next 50 years.
