Alumni Update

C. Chad Wiggins
President, HSA Alumni Association

Words cannot express the sense of pride and privilege I experienced when David Dornheggen handed over the gavel to me in Chicago on March 24, 2009. I have learned much from David and will work tirelessly to provide the level of service and success he realized during his two-year term as alumni association president. Our program is stronger than ever, achieving a No. 1 ranking by Modern Healthcare, the result of which can be attributed to the tremendous talents of our faculty and the strength of our students.

As our program has become stronger, so too has the level of service by our alumni association. We have increased communication to our alumni through the expansion of our web site, which is now integrated into the full Xavier University alumni site at www.xavier. edu/mhsa/alumni. The most exciting news is the energy of our new board. I am grateful to work with such a talented group as we embark on a strategic planning session with the goal of creating a unified business plan for the alumni association. The purpose of this session is to strengthen the alumni association and its relationship with the program and the University so that the association can better serve members, the program and the University.

In closing, I want to extend my gratitude to all who support our program and our University. We look forward to many successes over the next two years.
