Minors

The Department of Mathematics offers minors in Mathematics, Statistics, and Applied Mathematics.

Minor in Mathematics

The Mathematics minor requires 21 credit hours of mathematics courses:

  • (3) MATH 180 Differential Calculus
  • (3) MATH 181 Integral Calculus
  • (3) MATH 182 Sequences and Series
  • (3) MATH 225 Foundations of Higher Mathematics
  • (9) At least three additional Mathematics elective courses
selected from MATH 220, or those numbered above MATH 225.
Notes
  • Students should select their additional mathematics electives under the guidance of a faculty advisor in the Department of Mathematics.
  • Students must maintain a 2.000 cumulative grade point average in these courses.
  • The minor in Mathematics is open to all undergraduates except those majoring in Mathematics or Actuarial Science.
  • Students may receive no more than one of these three minors: Mathematics, Statistics, Applied Mathematics.

Minor in Statistics

The Statistics minor requires 21 credit hours of courses:

  • (3) MATH 180 Differential Calculus
  • (3) MATH 181 Integral Calculus
  • (3) MATH 182 Sequences and Series
