CURRICULUM

30 credit hours are required for the master's degree, consisting of 9 hours in professional foundation courses, 3 hours of electives and 18 hours for the TESOL Endorsement.

Students can pursue a Master's degree in TESOL in addition to the endorsement. The Master's degree requires 30 graduate credit hours.

Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages Design

The Master of Education in TESOL combines the required courses for an Ohio endorsement with the foundational courses for a master's degree from Xavier, providing English language teachers a strengthened foundation in professional knowledge and experience combining the latest theories and practice.

Core education courses are offered at five Cincinnati area locations, making it even easier for students to take courses. The locations include:

  • Covington Catholic High School in Northern Kentucky.
  • Middletown Fenwick High School north of Xavier.
  • Wilmington High School, northeast of Xavier.
  • Oak Hills Professional Development Center west of Xavier.
  • Glen Este High School east of Xavier.
