The University lost highly regarded theology chair William Madges to fellow Jesuit university Saint Joseph’s University where he became the new dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. Madges served two terms as chair of the department of theology and one term as director of the ethics/religion and society program. He was a Fulbright Senior Scholar and won the best educational book award from the Catholic Press Association for Faith, Religion, Theology: A Contemporary Introduction. He will be missed. …

WCPO-TV, channel 9 in Cincinnati, won the Best Documentary 2006 Award from the AP Ohio Associated Press Broadcasters for its documentary on the exhibit “A Blessing to One Another: John Paul II and the Jewish People,” which was co-created by University faculty members James Buchanan, Madges and former Brueggeman chair Yaffa Eliach.
