5. Using the NOT operator

In this search example, the NOT operator is used to exclude a term from the search; for example, Social Networking NOT Facebook and Social Networking NOT MySpace. In the image below the number of resuts is provided for each term searched separately. The Total for the term Social Networking is 2321. When the NOT operator is used, the totals are less because it is Social Networking without Facebook or Social Networking without MySpace.
