7. Currency of the information

What to check Why
When was the webpage last updated?
Frequent updates are essential for accurate information. Note the date this CIA website was last modified.
Is the information permanent?
Websites maintained by organizations are more likely to be permanent than those representing individuals (example).
Do the links from the webpage work?
Broken links are an indication that the webpage is not maintained regularly. The example shows the message you get when you click on a broken link.
What is an example of a current information source?
Blogs are a quick and simple way to share current information (example).
