1. Formulating the Research Question

Before beginning any research, you must select a topic for the subject of your research paper. You must define this topic before you can begin to create your search strategy.

Then, try to represent your research topic in the form of a question. Frequently this serves to focus your research and clarifies what you hope your research will accomplish.
