Using the AND Operator
In our search example, the AND operator is used to combine key concepts; for example, Facebook AND MySpace AND Social Networking. This will result in documents that discuss all three of the terms. In the image below the number of results is provided for each term searched separately. When the terms are combined with the AND operator, the number of results equals 223.

The AND operator usually retrieves fewer documents than a search by any of the other terms alone. When a search produces too many results, combine additional terms with the AND operator.
