26 Steps to Infromation Fluency

Step 13: Microsoft PowerPoint

Microsoft PowerPoint is a presentation software application. This software is on all computers at Xavier, including those computers in the library and academic computing labs. For help completing this step use the following resources:

For this step you need to create a presentation of 8 or more slides that demonstrates you know how to do the following tasks in Microsoft PowerPoint:

  1. Create a new presentation from a design template
  2. Create a title slide
  3. Use different slide layouts:
    1. Bulleted list slide
    2. Two bulleted lists slide
    3. Bulleted list with inserted image slide
    4. Slide with a table
    5. Slide with a graph
    6. Slide with a movie
  4. Create a hyperlink on one of your slides
  5. Add audio to one of your slides
  6. Set up transition between slides
  7. Set up custom animation for one or more slides
  8. Create a master slide with footer and slide number

BE SURE TO SAVE YOUR DOCUMENT FREQUENTLY!!

When you have completed your document upload it into your e-portfolio (Expo Directory). You cannot simply copy and paste it into your e-portfolio. You need to upload it as a file. In addition to the PowerPoint file you will need to upload the movie and audio files, too. You do not need to upload the image, graph, or table files as they are embedded in the presentation. If you have forgotten how to do this consult the e-portfolio instructions.
