26 Steps to Infromation Fluency

Step 16: Xtreme Subject Guides

The librarians have created an Xtreme Subject Guide for every academic program at Xavier. The guides will help you find articles, research databases, books, journals, media, and websites in a particular subject area or academic discipline.

  1. Go to the library's homepage at http://www.xavier.edu/library/
  2. Under the Welcome tab, in the Quick Links section, click Xtreme Subject Guides.
  3. Click the down arrow in the Select an Academic Program textbox and select a program that provides the focus for one of your classes.
  4. Create a new entry in your Blackboard e-portfolio (Expo Directory) and type the answers to these questions:
    1. Which guide should you use to find articles in journals?
    2. Which guide should you use to find a video?
    3. Who is the librarian liaison for this academic area?
  5. If you need help with e-portfolio refer to these instructions.
