Step 6: Cut, Copy & Paste

You will be frequently asked to copy and paste content into a new e-portfolio entry. There are three methods you can use to copy and paste content. The first method requires that you actually have an Edit item in your menubar. Sometimes you don't and that is why you need to know multiple ways to copy and paste.

For the first method follow these steps:

  1. Highlight the first paragraph in this step with your mouse.
  2. Click Edit on the menubar of your browser window.
  3. Select Copy from the drop-down menu.
  4. What you highlighted has been copied to a virtual clipboard. Note: you cannot actually see this clipboard.
  5. Click inside the textbox below with your mouse.
  6. Click Edit on the menubar of your browser window.
  7. Select Paste from the drop-down menu.
  8. What you highlighted will be copied and displayed into the texbox below.

For the second method follow these steps:

  1. As in the first method, highlight the first paragraph in this step with your mouse.
  2. Right-click what you highlighted.
  3. Select Copy from the pop-up menu.
  4. What you highlighted has been copied to a virtual clipboard.
  5. Right-click inside the textbox below with your mouse.
  6. Select Paste from the pop-up menu.
  7. What you highlighted will be copied and displayed into the texbox below.

For the third method follow these steps:

  1. As in the other methods, highlight the first paragraph in this step with your mouse.
  2. Hold down the Ctrl key and press the C key (for copy) on your keyboard.
  3. What you highlighted has been copied to a virtual clipboard.
  4. Click inside the textbox below with your mouse.
  5. Hold down the Ctrl key and press the V key (for move)on your keyboard.
  6. What you highlighted will be copied and displayed into the texbox below.
