Electronic reserves expands the scope of the traditional "in library” reserve service. Electronic reserves facilitates the distribution of reserve materials (i.e. relevant classroom/educational materials) to students by offering the convenience of electronic access to materials at any hour and from any computer workstation using the Internet. The system permits students to find, view save and print course materials that have been placed on reserve by instructors. Faculty may place a wide variety of materials on electronic reserve including: journal articles, book chapters, syllabi, course notes, assignments, or links to class or course-related websites. See traditional reserves for placing books, theses & dissertations, audiovisuals, and lengthy book chapters on reserves.
Electronic reserves (Docutek ERes) is located online at the following Internet address (URL): http://library.xu.edu. Users must enter a password, provided by their professor, to view and/or print electronic reserve materials. Contact the IRC Desk, Reference (513 745-4808) if you do not know the password. Some electronic reserve materials require document viewers for displaying and printing materials, such as the free, downloadable Adobe Acrobat Reader.
