Beginning May 9, 2011 through mid-August, the McDonald Building will undergo a much-needed renovation. The Library will receive new paint, carpet, shelving, and furniture. The improvements will provide Xavier students with an enhanced space for research and study.
To complete this by the start of fall semester, access to the McDonald Building and the library's collections must be curtailed over the summer. The building will be closed to the public and the print collection will be stored off-site. The Conaton Learning Commons (CLC) and the Connection Center desk will operate as usual. The OhioLINK, document delivery and e-reserves service areas will relocate to room 423 in the CLC for the summer. Our digital collections, e-books, e-journals and more will remain available for use. The collection will be reinstalled before fall semester starts.
VERY IMPORTANT: If you are teaching, taking classes, or planning in-depth research this summer, we ask that you plan now for the items that you may need while the physical collection is unavailable. Materials for summer use may be checked out for an extended period during the renovation, and the materials that your students may need for their classes can be put on reserve.
