ACCUNET Multimedia Archive/AP Images (1840-present; updated daily; full-text captions) contains over 750,000 of the Associated Press' best photographs, over 380,000 audio files (requiring RealPlayer) and links to 800,000 full-text articles. About 800 photos are added daily and about 200 photos from the historical collection are added monthly. It includes maps, graphs, charts, logos, flags and illustrations, including 2,000 graphics using Spanish instead of English. Audio files, images and other graphics may be downloaded and used for educational purposes. Educators may search by state and grade level for images applicable to a specific state curriculum standard. It is produced by the Associated Press and the user interface is provided by Accuweather, Inc.

Annals of American History (all full-text; XLinks) is an encyclopedia that covers the arts, business, democracy, discrimination, diversity, education, expansion, family, government, imperialism, labor, law, leisure, peace, religion,and war. It provides 2,000 primary documents in American history, including speeches, historical accounts, memoirs, editorials and cultural criticism. Multimedia files include over 500 pictures, hundreds of video clips, and audio files of famous speeches. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Encyclopaedia Britannica.

Classical Music Library (XLinks) is a streaming classical music service for libraries that enables listening and learning. Browse alphabetical lists of composers, artists, conductors, ensemble, instrument, genre, period and label. Genres include orchestral, chamber, instrumental, stage & screen, vocal & choral, and opera & operetta. It includes images and biographies of artists and conductors, a glossary and definitions of historical music periods. Users can register to create personal playlist folders. Faculty can arrange to have course folders of music selections created for students in their classes. Kent State Shootings, Oral Histories (XLinks) is a part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains a collection of 69 oral histories related to the May 4, 1970 shootings of Vietnam War protestors at Kent State University. The oral histories include many eyewitness accounts of the event and its aftermath, contributed by people who were students, faculty members, and City of Kent residents at the time, as well as an account by an Ohio National Guardsman. Apple's free QuickTime player is required to listen to the audio files. Written transcripts are also available for many of the oral histories. It was contributed by Kent State University Libraries & Media Services and the user interface is provided by OhioLINK.

Oxford Music Online (updated quarterly and annually; all full-text; temporary off-campus link; XLinks) is the online version of New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians (second edition in 29 volumes). It also contains Grove Music Online, New Grove Dictionary of Opera (4 volumes), New Grove Dictionary of Jazz (second edition; 3 volumes), Oxford Dictionary of Music (2nd ed.), and the Oxford Companion to Music. It contains more than 25 million words and 29,000 articles by 6,000 contributors. It provides an integrated music resource that covers all aspects of music. LexisNexis Statistical Publications & DataSets (exportable data; users guide) includes datasets from many sources, including the US government, international organizations, and the private sector. It covers all subject areas, including banking and finance, criminal justice and law, education, energy resources and demand, food and agriculture, government and politics, health and vital statistics, housing and construction, industry and commerce, international; labor and employment, natural resources and environment, population and income, prices and cost of living, stocks and commodities, and transportation and travel. Users can search datasets by keyword; browse datasets by subject or source; display datasets by trend, map or ranking; and output datasets in print, PDF, delimited, Excel or SAS formats. Datasets can be limited by date and geographic area (country, state, county). Years available varies by dataset; for example, births 1999-present and breast cancer 1973-present. It also features datasets currently in the news, such as crude oil price, 30-year fixed mortgage rate, airline on-time arrival rate, campaign contributions for both Obama and McCain, gasoline prices, the prime rate and the unemployment rate. ART Collection (XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center: Art and Architecture Digital Media. It contains 52,855 digital images of works of art from museums around the world. It highlights the creative output of cultures around the world, from prehistoric to contemporary times, and covers the complete range of expressive forms. Images include a broad range of works of the following genres: painting, sculpture, photography, print, drawing, ceramic, textiles, metalwork, furniture, books and scrolls, architecture, and archeological finds. Cultures and time periods represented range from contemporary art, Native American and Inuit art, to ancient Greek, Roman, and Egyptian works, along with Japanese and Chinese works. Biography Resource Center (all full-text; XLinks) contains over 330,000 biographies on nearly 220,000 people from nearly 80 sources, such as Contemporary Authors, Encyclopedia of World Biography, Contemporary Black Biography and Religious Leaders of America. It provides quick reference information on 900,00 people in the Complete Marquis Who's Who®. It covers people throughout history, around the world and across all disciplines and subject areas. It includes full-text articles from more than 250 magazines and 20,000 images. Search for people by birth and death year, nationality, ethnicity, occupation or gender. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by the Gale Group. This subscription is limited to 2 simultaneous users.

Early Encounters in North America: Peoples, Cultures and the Environment (1534-1860; all full-text; XLinks) includes about 1,000 primary sources describing North American peoples, cultures and environment that appear in key bibliographies for this academic discipline. It permits searches by author, year, source, place, environment, encounter, fauna, flora, peoples, images, personal event or cultural event. It includes the letters, diaries and memoirs of more than 1,440 authors. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Alexander Street Press in collaboration with the University of Chicago.

National Underground Railroad Freedom Center Digital Images (XLinks) is a part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains digital documents related to slavery, abolition, and emancipation. The collection includes abolitionist broadsheets, photographs by Matthew Brady, letters and speeches of President Lincoln and other presidents, and other historic letters, documents, and pictures. The original documents are found in the Gilder Lehrman Collection of the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. The digital images were made available through the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center. The user interface is provided by OhioLINK.

Oxford Art Online (prehistory-1990's; updated monthly; all full-text; temporary off-campus link; XLinks) is the online version of the 1996 edition of Dictionary of Art and the 2001 edition of the Oxford Companion to Western Art. It also contains Grove Art Online, Concise Oxford Dictionary of Art Terms, Encyclopedia of Aesthetics, and direct links from articles in Oxford Art Online to ARTstor and Art Resources. It contains 45,000 articles on every aspect of the visual arts (painting, sculpture, graphic arts, architecture, decorative arts, photography) and contains biographical information on over 20,000 artists, patrons, collectors, and dealers with bibliographic citations at the end of each article. It also contains many embedded images and links to external images. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Oxford University Press.

Saskia Art History Images (XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center: Art and Architecture Digital Media. It contains 1,009 digital images of paintings and sculptures located in museums worldwide. It also contains digital images of photographs of architectural structures located throughout the world. Each entry includes the title, creator, creation date, object type, measurements, materials, style/period, owner, accession number, contributor and a stable link to the item. This collection emphasizes the core images required for teaching the history of Western art and is based on Gardner's Art Through the Ages, Stokstad's History of Art and Hartt's History of Italian Renaissance Art. The user interface is provided by OhioLINK.

WPA Prints by Cleveland Artists (Case Western Reserve University) (XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center: Art and Architecture Digital Media. It contains 259 digital images of prints by Cleveland artists contributed by Case Western Reserve University. Educational Films and Documentaries (XLinks), formerly the Digital Video Collection, is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains 1,976 full-length educational films and documentaries covering a wide variety of subjects. The collection currently includes videos from two distributors: Ambrose Video and Films for the Humanities & Sciences. Real Media Alternative is required to view videos. It is compiled by and the user interface is provided by OhioLINK.

Foreign Language Instruction Videos (XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains a growing collection of foreign language videos in which native speakers elaborate on their culture, family, daily life, and more. Each video is accompanied by a description of its contents, the country of the speaker, and additional grammar and vocabulary notes. Videos are in QuickTime format. It is produced by the ViewPoints Project and the user interface is provided by OhioLINK.

XPLORE Library Catalog (tips & tricks; RefWorks help; XLinks; video tutorials) is Xavier library's online public access catalog. It includes all of the library's books, journals, audiovisuals, and microform materials. Search XPLORE by keyword, author, title and Library of Congress subject heading.
