These instructions are for OhioLINK databases, e.g., Compendex, ERIC, INSPEC, PsycINFO, etc. They assume you have searched the database an have a list of results.
Saving a Search
At the search menu, click Search History.
Click Save Search Strategy.
Your saved searches will display.
Select Permanent save (downloaded to your computer).
Click the Save Search Strategy button.
The File Download window will apper.
Click the Save button.
Follow the download/save instructions, saving the strategy.txt file to your computer.
Make note of where you are saving this file - the drive you are saving it on and the folder you are saving it in.
Re-executing a Saved Search
Go to database you used when you saved your search strategy and click Search History.
Click Run Saved Search.
The Run Saved Search Strategy window will appear.
Click the Browse button.
Select the drive and folder where you saved your search strategy (not shown). Double click the strategy.txt file (not shown).
The drive, folder(s), and file name will appear in box next to the Browse button.
