HelP: Saving & Re-executing OhioLINK Database Searches

These instructions are for OhioLINK databases, e.g., Compendex, ERIC, INSPEC, PsycINFO, etc. They assume you have searched the database an have a list of results.

Saving a Search Strategy

  1. At the search menu, click Search History.

  1. Click Save Search Strategy.

  1. Select Permanent save (downloaded to your computer)
  2. Click the Save Search Strategy button.

Follow the download instructions, saving the strategy.txt file to your computer. Make note of where you are saving this file - the drive you are saving it on and the folder you are saving it in.

Re-executing a Saved Search

  1. Go to database you used when you saved your search strategy and click the Show search history link.

  1. Click Run Saved Search.

  1. In the Run Saved Search Strategy window, click the Browse button. Select the drive and folder where you saved your search strategy. Double click the strategy.txt file.
  2. Click the Upload and execute search button.
