What is netLibrary?
netLibrary is a collection of electronic books and audiobooks on many academic subjects. The collection includes more than 15,400 eBook titles, some purchased by the library and some in the public domain, as well as more than 1,200 eAudiobooks. Users can preview netLibrary eBooks online, peruse a page, read each page in depth, jump to specific chapters or pages, or use links in the Table of Content or Index to go directly to specific chapters of interest. Every word in an eBook is searchable.
Accessing the netLibrary Collection
All Xavier students, faculty and staff can access netLibrary resources in XPLORE, the library's online catalog. You can also access netLibrary resources from the library's homepage:
- Under Finding Articles, select Databases A-Z, click the letter N and then click netLibrary eBooks.
Searching XPLORE for netLibrary Resources
netLibrary resources are integrated into Xavier's online catalog, XPLORE. After you perform a title, author,
keyword or subject search you can limit your results to only netLibrary eBooks. Click the Modify Search button from the top menu in XPLORE. This gives you the option to select the Location, Electronic Book.
Searching netLibrary Directly
Use the Keyword Search box located at the top right of your browser window on netLibrary's main navigation bar. A keyword search allows you to search for a word or phrase in the title, author, Library of Congress subject heading, publisher, and ISBN fields. To perform a keyword search, enter the search term. Note: to do a phrase search, submit your search in quotes for example, small business. Click the Go button to display your earch results.
To perform a more advanced search, fill in any or all of the fields that appear on the netLibrary home page including title, author, subject, keywords, full text, publisher, pub year, and ISBN. Note: to do a phrase search, submit your search in quotes for example, small business. Click the red Search button to display search results.
