Exporting References from InteLex Past Masters

At the item you want, which may be a collection of works, click Export a Citation.

In the resulting window that opens, click the down arrow and select RefWorks.

Then click the Export Citation button.

- The File Download window will open.
- note the name of your saved citation file; for example, citationsc84d32d7.txt
- Click the Save button.

- The Save As window will open.
- Note the name of the file you are saving, citationsc84d32d7
- Note type of file you are saving - txt
- Note where you are saving the file; for example, your Desktop.
- Click the Save button .

The Download Complete window will open.
- The Download Complete window will open.
- It will tell you the name of the file you downloaded, citationsc84d32d7.txt.
- Click Close.

Importing References into RefWorks
From the library's homepage under the Welcome! tab, click RefWorks.

The RefWorks Login Center page will open

Enter your login name.

Enter your password.

Click the Login button.
NOTE: If you are in an off-campus location, the initial RefWorks Login Center page will look different and you will be asked for a Group Code. If you do not know the group code, call the reference desk at 513 745-4808 to obtain this information.

- Mouse over References in the top menu.
- Then click Import in the drop-down menu.

- An Import References sheet will appear in front of your RefWorks page.
- Click the down arrow in the Import Filter Data Source drop-down box and select the RefWorks Tagged Format.

Click the down arrow in the Database drop-down box and select Tagged Format .

Click the Browse button adjacent to the Select Text File box.

- The Choose File to Upload window will open
- Click Desktop in the left panel.
- Find and click your saved citations txt file, for example, citationsc84d32d7.txt
- Click the Open button .

- You will return to the Import References sheet.

Click the Import button at the bottom of the page.

The RefWorks Import page will open
- RefWorks will prompt with Import completed when it is finished. Although an import of 3 references is shown in the image below, there would be only one imported at a time for the Intelex Past Masters database.
- Click View Last Imported Folder to view your references.

RefWorks will display references in the Last Imported Folder window.

Click the FIND IT @ XU icon to see if an article is available in full-text, print or microform format and to submit an interlibrary loan request.
