The Cincinnati Enquirer on CD-ROM provides the full text of the Cincinnati Enquirer newspaper from 1990 to 2001. The Cincinnati Enquirer discs are in the Reserves Collection (1st floor) at Ref AN2 .O3 C56.
- Click on Start.
- Click on CD-ROM Databases.
- Click on Cincinnati Enquirer.
- Press enter.
- Click on the year you want to search (the corresponding disc for that year must be loaded).
- Press enter.
- Click on Keyword Search (Level I).
- At the find prompt, type in the keywords that describe your topic.
- Use the word AND to combine terms: public schools and funding
- Use OR to combine similar terms: public schools and layoffs or cutbacks
- Use quotes around terms or phrases that contain embedded punctuation, or words such as and, or, not; for example:
- "Procter and Gamble"
- "B'nai B'rith"
- "April 15, 1994"
- Press to search.
- The Level II option allows more search flexibility by giving you a list of specific fields (such as lead fields) that you can use to refine your search.
- Click on a field to select it and then follow the same search techniques described for Level I.
- Press to view the articles.
- Click on the arrow keys to move up and down.
- Press <F7> to toggle back to displaying readlines only.
Press to mark / unmark item.
Press to print an article. Select the appropriate options and press enter.
Click on the X in the upper right hand corner of the screen.
