Use books and reference works for a comprehensive treatment of a topic and for background information. Information in books is usually not as recent as information found in journal articles.
Use library catalogs, such as the XPLORE and OhioLINK library catalogs, to find books.
Begin your search for books with XPLORE, the library's online catalog. You cannot request an OhioLINK book without first determining that the book is not available at Xavier.
Books at Xavier University Library may be requested online and picked up at the library's circulation desk. OhioLINK books may also be requested online and picked up at Xavier's circulation desk or at other OhioLINK libraries.
If a book is not available at Xavier University Library or at another OhioLINK institution, you may request it through the library's document delivery services.
Books are usually listed in library catalogs under broad subject headings; therefore, you may need to use the book's table of contents or back-of-the-book-index to find the specific information you need.
