These instructions assume that you are connected to the Internet, have searched Biography Reference Bank and have a list of results.
xporting References from Biography Reference Bank
- At your search results
- Check the records you want.
- Click the Get Marked link.

- Your window will refresh and display your marked records.
- Clickthe EXPORTING / CITING button in the horizontal menu.

A new window will pop up and display your citaiton in BibTex format.

Make sure the EXPORTING tab is selected.

Make sure The records in your marked set is selected.

Make sure RefWork's Direct Export Tool is selected.

Click the Export button.

NOTE: References from this database may need to be edited in RefWorks with additional information (name of biography resource, volume, database, etc.).
Importing References into RefWorks
From the library's homepage under the Welcome! tab, click RefWorks.

At the RefWorks User Login page:
- Enter your login name.
- Enter your password.
- Click Login.
NOTE: If you are in an off-campus location, you will be asked for a Group Code. Call the reference desk at 513 745-4808 to obtain this information.

- Click References in the top menu.
- Then click Import in the drop-down menu..

RefWork's Import window will open.

Click the down arrow in the Import Filter/Data Source drop-down box and select the Bib Tex import filter. Your screen will refresh.

Click the down arrow in the Database drop-down box and select ACM Digital Library (BibTex format).

Click the Import Data from the following Text button.

Right-click your mouse and select Paste in the large textbox, or press the Ctrl key and then the letter V on your keyboard, and the citation you copied previously will appear in the large textbox.

Click Import.

The RefWorks Import from Database page will open
- RefWorks will prompt with Import completed when it is finished.
- Click View Last Imported Folder to view your references.

RefWorks will display references in the Last Imported Folder window.

Click the FIND IT @ XU icon to see if an article is available in full-text, print or microform format and to submit an interlibrary loan request.
