news and information about the advertising and commercial production industries
and offers a growing database of the best creative work. It covers latest spots,
breaking news, opinion, AdCritic top 20, anniversary top 50, music, events (Super
Bowl, Cannes Festival), no-spot film festival, production preview, who did that
spot, images & footage, location scout, and features from the editorial staff
of Creativity Magazine published by Advertising Age Group. It is produced

Adforum (images,
audio and video; all full-text) provides information on over 18,000 agencies and 50,000 ads from around the world. Users
can view TV, radio, cinema, Internet, print and outdoor ad campaigns from their desktops. Users can search for ads by
keyword, media type, product, brand name, business sector, agency, country, celebrity or award. Ads with and without a shopping cart can be viewed. It is produced by and the

Annals
of American History (all full-text; XLinks) is an encyclopedia that covers the
arts, business, democracy, discrimination, diversity, education, expansion, family,
government, imperialism, labor, law, leisure, peace, religion,and war. It provides
2,000 primary documents in American history, including speeches, historical accounts,
memoirs, editorials and cultural criticism. Multimedia files include over 500
pictures, hundreds of video clips, and audio files of famous speeches. It is produced

Bates On-line: A Visual Guide to Physical Examination (streaming videos) was adapted from the popular film and print series by Barbara Bates. It covers 12 subject areas: abdomen; cardiovascular - neck vessels and heart; female genitalia, anus and rectum; male genitalia, rectum and hernias; neurologic - motor system and reflexes; nose, mouth, and neck; breasts and axillae; cardiovascular and peripheral vascular systems; head, eyes, and ears; musculoskeletal system; neurologic - cranial nerves and sensory system; and thorax and lungs. Online Academic Edition (all full-text; XLinks) is the online version of Encyclopaedia Britannica
that contains more than 118,000 articles, updated and revised by Encyclopædia
Britannica editors and contributors; over 14,000 illustrations, including photographs,
drawings, maps, and flags; and more than 215,000 word entries, including definitions,
pronunciation guides, and word histories. It includes an Internet directory that

Business Source Complete (some from 1886-present; updated daily; much full-text; tutorials; RefWorks help;
XLinks) provides indexing and abstracts for the most
important scholarly business journals. It contains far more peer-reviewed, business-related journals than any
other database currently available. It contains searchable cited references for 1,200 journals and 20,000 detailed
author profiles. It covers all subject areas related to business, including management, marketing, economics,
finance, accounting, and international business. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial
data, books, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research
reports, product reviews, industry profiles (Datamonitor reports), market research reports,
country reports,
company profiles (including Life Science Analytics (LSA) company profiles from the MedTRACK database),

CAMIO (Catalog of Art Museum Images) ( XLinks) provides
high-quality art images from around the world contributed and described by leading museums, all rights-cleared for educational use. Every work in CAMIO is represented by at least one high-resolution image and a description. Many have additional views of the work, sound, video and curatorial notes. It covers antiquity to the present, and includes photographs, prints, sculptures, paintings decorative arts, posters, utilitarian objects, and jewelry.
This database supports not only art history, studio art and design programs but also provides a rich context for history, religion and other humanities disciplines. CAMIO fills the gap left by the end of operations of the Art Museum Image Consortium (AMICO). It is produced by AMICO and the user interface is provided by OCLC (Online Computer

Educational Films and Documentaries ( XLinks), formerly the Digital Video Collection, is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains
1,976 full-length educational films and documentaries covering a wide variety of subjects. The collection currently includes videos from two distributors: Ambrose Video and Films for the Humanities & Sciences. Encyclopedia of Physics Demonstrations (XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center. It
contains 600 videos of physics experiments available for viewing and downloading. Each
video illustrates a particular principle of physics. The demonstrations are
augmented by slow-motion photography and animation. Videos are accompanied by a
printer-friendly PDF page which may contain graphics, tables or figures not
easily rendered on the Web. Videos are available in RealVideo format and may be streamed or downloaded. To view these videos, you will need to install RealPlayer on your computer. Language Instruction Videos ( XLinks) is part of OhioLINK's Digital Media Center and contains
a growing collection of foreign language videos in which native speakers elaborate
on their culture, family, daily life, and more. Each video is accompanied by a
description of its contents, the country of the speaker, and additional grammar
and vocabulary notes. Videos are in QuickTime format. It is produced by the ViewPoints

In the First Person (1550-present; all full-text; XLinks) is an in-depth index of more than 3,350 collections of personal narratives in English from around the world.
Users can keyword search more than 650,000 pages of full-text by more than 15,000 individuals from all walks of life. It also contains pointers to some 3,500 audio and video files and 30,000 bibliographic records.
The index contains approximately 20,500 months of diary entries, 63,000 letter entries, and 17,000 oral history entires. It is produced by and the user interface is
provided by Alexander Street Press in collaboration with the University of Chicago. Although this database is free, it links to other subscription-only Alexander Street databases, many of which have been purchased by Xavier's library.
Kid's Search (much full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides elementary school students in kindergarten through 5th grade with an easy-to-use, graphically-appealing search interface for databases such as American Heritage Dictionary, BookSource NonFiction, EBSCO Animals, Image Collection, Funk & Wagnalls New World Encyclopedia, History Reference Center, Historical Video Collection, Marshall Cavendish Science Reference Center, Marshall Cavendish Wildlife Reference Center, Middle Search Plus, Newspaper Source, Primary Search, and TOPICsearch. Teacher resources search databases such as

OAIster
(updated weekly; much full-text and other digital content; RefWorks help) serves as a portal for more than 19 million digital resources from over 1,000 organizations developed by the University of Michigan and harvested using OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting). It includes digital items such as books and articles, audio files, images, videos, and datasets (downloadable statistics files). Users can search by keyword, title, creator, subject or resource type (audio, dataset, image, text, or video). Searches yield a detailed and well-organized description of the resource and a
persistent/stable link to the resource itself. Indexed content includes the Library of Congress'
American Memory Project, various pre-print and e-print servers, and digital
thesis and dissertation collections. It is produced by University of Michigan Digital Library Production Services and the user interface is provided by OCLC (Online Computer

Online (all full-text; XLinks) is an online encyclopedia and NOT the journal, Science. It offers a comprehensive, curriculum-oriented overview of a broad range of scientific disciplines including biology and life sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth science, environmental science, forensic science, mathematics, physics, space and astronomy, and weather and climate. Content is organized by subject area and type of resource, as well as by national and state science education standards.
