CINAHL Plus (Cummulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature) (1937-present; updated weekly; upgraded to include more full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) indexes over 3,024 nursing and allied health journals, with complete coverage of journals and publications from the National League for Nursing and the American Nurses' Association. It includes every US nursing journal published and covers nursing, biomedicine, consumer health, alternative/complementary medicine, health sciences librarianship, and 17 allied health disciplines, including occupational and physical therapy. It includes searchable cited references for more than 1,160 journals and provides full-text for hundreds of journals, plus legal cases, clinical innovations, critical paths, drug records, research instruments and clinical trials. It indexes and abstracts over 9,300 journals, many of them peer-reviewed (4,400), and provides full-text for over 5,300 journals. It also includes indexing and abstracts for books, reports, conference proceedings, etc. Searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 journals. Access Medicine (updated daily; all full-text; XLinks; Citation help) provides students, clinicians, and researchers with instant answers to clinical questions from the most trusted textbooks: Harrison's Principles of Internal Medicine, CURRENT Medical Diagnosis & Treatment, Tintinalli's Emergency Medicine, Schwartz's Principles of Surgery, Fitzpatrick's Color Atlas, Williams' Obstetrics, Hurst's The Heart, Goodman & Gillman's Pharmacological Basis of Therapeutics, Adams & Victor's Principles of Neurology, Williams' Hematology, and Principles of Critical Care. Cancer Subset of MEDLINE/PubMed (mid 1950s-present; updated daily; RefWorks help; XLinks) worldwide cancer information in MEDLINE/PubMed from over 5,000 periodicals in medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care and preclinical sciences. It is produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the user interface is provided by the Entrez retrieval system of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).

images.MD (FAQs about educational use of images) compiles over 50,000 high-quality images spanning all of internal medicine and derived from Current Medicine's series of illustrated atlases. Each image is accompanied by detailed and informative text written by over 2,000 contributing experts. images.MD is updated as new atlases are published or existing atlas series are revised. Register to start your own image library, create PowerPoint® presentations of images in your library, edit figure titles and legends, and create customized CD-ROMs of your favorite slides. LWW Nursing Collection (coverage beginning in 1995 to 2006-present; all full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks test) indexes and abstracts 193 nursing periodicals with links to the full-text for all article in the journals. Users can search by keyword(s), enter a citation, or browse journals by subject category or by name from an A-Z list. In the browse mode, users can set up an RSS feed of the table of contents for any journal in the collection. Search results provide view abstract, find similar, find citing articles, TOC of the journal, and view the complete reference. The complete reference includes references cited by the author(s). PubMed (mid1950s-present; updated daily; some full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides free access to the bibliographic information contained in MEDLINE and OLD MEDLINE. It provides abstracts and indexing for over 5,000 periodicals in medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary medicine, health care and preclinical sciences. Coverage is worldwide with extensive links to genomic information. It also includes the MEDLINE subsets AIDSLINE, BIOETHICSLINE, and HEALTHSTAR. It is produced by the National Library of Medicine (NLM) and the user interface is provided by the Entrez retrieval system of the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI). It covers a wide range of academic disciplines: physical sciences, technology, medicine, social sciences, the arts, theology, literature and other subjects. It also contains hundreds of podcasts and transcripts from NPR, CNN and the CBC as well as the full-text of the New York Times back to 1995. All research articles and most other content are fully and rapidly peer-reviewed. The form of peer review is left to those responsible for the editorial control of participating journals. Cochrane Database (updated quarterly; systematic reviews full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks) contains systematic reviews providing high quality evidence for people providing and receiving care. It includes citations to controlled trials, effectiveness reviews, methodology register, economic evaluations of health care interventions, and healthcare technology assessments. Lexi-PALS Drug Guide (updated monthly; all full-text; video tutorials) was formerly incorporated into Health Source (both the nursing & consumer editions), but is now separate database. It provides vital information on medications for patients through its Patient Advisory Leaflets. It contains over 1,450 medication and natural product leaflets representing the most commonly used medications, with an additional 600 leaflets in Spanish. It is produced by Lexi-Comp, Inc. and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

LexisNexis Academic (all full-text; RefWorks help) covers a wide variety of subjects including law, government, international affairs, politics, current events, business and medicine. Legal research provides federal and state cases, Shepard's citations, federal and state codes, tax law, Canadian court cases and legislation, law reviews, and patents. Business research allows users to create company profiles, lists, and comparisons, as well as SEC filings, account and country profiles. Company reports can be created and data can be downloaded into spreadsheets. The People tab allows users to find obituaries, elected officials, and industry contacts. LexisNexis Statistical Publications & DataSets (exportable data; users guide) includes datasets from many sources, including the US government, international organizations, and the private sector. It covers all subject areas, including banking and finance, criminal justice and law, education, energy resources and demand, food and agriculture, government and politics, health and vital statistics, housing and construction, industry and commerce, international; labor and employment, natural resources and environment, population and income, prices and cost of living, stocks and commodities, and transportation and travel. Users can search datasets by keyword; browse datasets by subject or source; display datasets by trend, map or ranking; and output datasets in print, PDF, delimited, Excel or SAS formats. Datasets can be limited by date and geographic area (country, state, county). Years available varies by dataset; for example, births 1999-present and breast cancer 1973-present. It also features datasets currently in the news, such as crude oil price, 30-year fixed mortgage rate, airline on-time arrival rate, campaign contributions for both Obama and McCain, gasoline prices, the prime rate and the unemployment rate. Natural and Alternative Treatments (1997-present; all full-text) provides accurate, unbiased information on natural health. It contains articles on herbs and supplements, medical conditions, drug interactions, alternative therapies and homeopathy. Articles are based on double-blind, placebo-controlled studies and other forms of meaningful scientific evidence. More than 12,000 such studies are cited in the material, and new studies are added as they appear. ProQuest Nursing & Allied Health Source (formerly ProQuest Nursing Journals; 1986-present; all full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks; title list) offers the full-text of 444 nursing and related publications. Special resource links on the home page includes Evidence Summaries, Systematic Reviews, and Best Practice Information Sheets from the Joanna Briggs Institute. There are also cultural competency briefs by religion and ethnicity as well as 75 video training programs. Study paths permit users to view full-text articles recommended by a board of experienced nurse educators on topics relevant to the typical nursing curriculum in practical and registered nursing. Science Online (all full-text; XLinks) is an online encyclopedia and NOT the journal, Science. It offers a comprehensive, curriculum-oriented overview of a broad range of scientific disciplines including biology and life sciences, chemistry, computer science, earth science, environmental science, forensic science, mathematics, physics, space and astronomy, and weather and climate. Content is organized by subject area and type of resource, as well as by national and state science education standards.
