It covers nearly 1,400 North American sources, providing information on advertising, economics, human resources, finance, marketing, computers and more. It includes access to the Wall Street Journal and information on over 60,000 companies. The user intereface is provided by ProQuest.

AdCritic.com (images and video; much full-text) delivers the latest news and information about the advertising and commercial production industries and offers a growing database of the best creative work. It covers latest spots, breaking news, opinion, AdCritic top 20, anniversary top 50, music, events (Super Bowl, Cannes Festival), no-spot film festival, production preview, who did that spot, images & footage, location scout, and features from the editorial staff of Creativity Magazine published by Advertising Age Group. Adforum (images, audio and video; all full-text) provides information on over 18,000 agencies and 50,000 ads from around the world. Users can view TV, radio, cinema, Internet, print and outdoor ad campaigns from their desktops. Users can search for ads by keyword, media type, product, brand name, business sector, agency, country, celebrity or award. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Adforum Shopping CartAdForum.com. Ads with and without a shopping cart can be viewed. Business and Company Resource Center (1980-present; XLinks) contains detailed company and industry news and information. It is a fully integrated resource that brings together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies, and periodicals. It includes Market Share Reporter, Ward's Business Directory and numerous other directories and encyclopedias. It is produced by Thomson/Gale and the user interface is provided by InfoTrac. This subscription permits only two simultaneous users.

Business and Industry (1994-July 2006; much full-text; RefWorks help; video tutorial) covers company, product, and industry information, including manufacturing and service industries. It is produced by Thompson/Gale and the user interface is provided by OhioLINK. See Business Source Complete for more up-to-date information.

Business Source Complete (some from 1886-present; updated daily; much full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals. It contains far more peer-reviewed, business-related journals than any other database currently available. It contains searchable cited references for 1,200 journals and 20,000 detailed author profiles. It covers all subject areas related to business, including management, marketing, economics, finance, accounting, and international business. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, product reviews, industry profiles (Datamonitor reports), market research reports, country reports, company profiles (including Life Science Analytics (LSA) company profiles from the MedTRACK database),and SWOT analyses. Demographics Now (all full-text; data) allows users to analyze the demographic and market potential of any geographic area in the U.S. It creates summary, comparison, ranking and radius-based reports by geographic area. Summary reports contain multiple user-defined variables for a single geographic area; comparison reports offer side-by-side comparisons of up to 16 geographic areas; ranking reports rank multiple geographic areas by the performance of specific user-defined variables such as gender, income, employment, housing value or household composition; radius reports makes it possible to summarize the entire area of a given radius or to compare multiple radii. From one place, you can search across many disciplines and sources: peer-reviewed papers, theses, books, abstracts and articles, from academic publishers, professional societies, preprint repositories, universities and other scholarly organizations. Google Scholar helps you identify the most relevant research across the world of scholarly research. Use the advanced search for maximum search capabilities and use Scholar preferences to display FIND IT @ XU and RefWorks direct export links.

InfoTrac General BusinessFile ASAP (1980-present; much full-text; XLinks) indexes and abstracts over 900 journals and covers business and management topics as well as finance, trade, trends and new business technologies. It includes directory listings for over 150,000 companies and their INVESTEXT investment reports. It is produced by Thomson-Gale and the user interface is provided by InfoTrac.

LexisNexis Academic (all full-text; RefWorks help) covers a wide variety of subjects including law, government, international affairs, politics, current events, business and medicine. Legal research provides federal and state cases, Shepard's citations, federal and state codes, tax law, Canadian court cases and legislation, law reviews, and patents. Business research allows users to create company profiles, lists, and comparisons, as well as SEC filings, account and country profiles. Company reports can be created and data can be downloaded into spreadsheets. The People tab allows users to find obituaries, elected officials, and industry contacts. LexisNexis Advertising Redbooks (all full-text) contains information on nearly 18,000 U.S. and international advertisers who each spend more than $200,000 annually on advertising. Each listing includes advertising expenditures by media, current agency, fiscal year-end and annual sales, contact information, brand names, S.I.C. classifications and other key data. It also contains profiles of nearly 14,000 U.S. and international advertising agencies, including accounts represented by each agency, fields of specialization, breakdown of gross billings by media, and contact information on agency personnel. Mediamark Reporter (all full-text; tutorial and registration; reading reports), formerly called Internet Reporter, provides comprehensive data on the uses of various consumer products, including Teenmark reports. The studies include demographic information on the persons surveyed, their use of consumer products, and their use of various forms of advertising, including television, radio, and print media. It is produced by Mediamark Research, Inc. (MRI). Users have to register first and are then sent an email message with a validation link. Please use your Xavier email address when registering. Mintel Reports offers international market research reports covering US, EU & UK marketplaces. Each report combines data & analysis of the competitive landscape, market share analysis and consumer profiles. Complex demographic issues are broken into easy-to-understand sections, explaining consumer behavior and demonstrating the structure of the market. Each report includes an introduction, abbreviations, executive summary, market drivers, market size & trends, market segmentation, supply structure, advertising & promotion, retail distribution, the consumer and future & forecast. There are three types of reports: consumer, life style and travel. Each report provides news updates and related reports. SRDS Media Solutions provides full-text directory information for companies and contacts. It includes advertising rates for more than 100,000 media properties, updating more than 21,000 listings each month; and demographic market profiles for the TV and cable section. Academic Search Complete (1985-present; updated daily; more full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) is a multidisciplinary database that covers nearly all academic areas of study, including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language, linguistics, the arts, literature, medical sciences and ethnic studies. It indexes and abstracts over 9,300 journals, many of them peer-reviewed (4,400), and provides full-text for over 5,300 journals. It also includes indexing and abstracts for books, reports, conference proceedings, etc. Searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 journals. Cabell's Directories provides full-text directory information for business, education and psychology journal publications. Each journal entry includes submission information (editor’s name, address, phone, fax, email, web address); publication guidelines (manuscript length, copies required, format, fees, style, computer submission); circulation data (reader type, frequency, number of subscribers, publisher, price); review information (type of reveiws, number of in-house and external reviewers, acceptance rate, time it takes to review, percent of invited articles, reviewers coments, publishing fees); manuscript topics included; and manuscript guidelines. CultureGrams (all full-text; XLinks) includes a world, children and states editions. It contains a photo gallery, recipe collection, famous people, data tables and definitions. Select from an A-Z list of countries/regions/states or select an area on a map. Each country includes a detailed map, flag, national anthem, current time, currency converter, recipe collection, facts and statistics as well as sections on history, climate, the people, customs, courtesies, lifestyle and society. Hoovers (updated daily; all full-text) provides comprehensive up-to-date information, data and news for 12 million companies and 40,000 industries. Users can search companies by name, ticker, stock quote, industry keyword, or executive name. Users can also browse companies by name, geographic location, or stock index. The business boneyard provides information about defunct companies. Advanced searching permits users to build company and executive lists, target IPO companies, screen stocks, build reports and customize news searches. Industry entries include most viewed companies, full company list, related industries, news, glossary, associations/organizations, web resources and SIC/NAICS codes. LexisNexis Statistical Publications & DataSets (exportable data; users guide) includes datasets from many sources, including the US government, international organizations, and the private sector. It covers all subject areas, including banking and finance, criminal justice and law, education, energy resources and demand, food and agriculture, government and politics, health and vital statistics, housing and construction, industry and commerce, international; labor and employment, natural resources and environment, population and income, prices and cost of living, stocks and commodities, and transportation and travel. Users can search datasets by keyword; browse datasets by subject or source; display datasets by trend, map or ranking; and output datasets in print, PDF, delimited, Excel or SAS formats. Datasets can be limited by date and geographic area (country, state, county). Years available varies by dataset; for example, births 1999-present and breast cancer 1973-present.
