ABI/Inform Research (1971-present; much full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks; title list) is a scholarly business periodicals database. It covers nearly 1,400 North American sources, providing information on advertising, economics, human resources, finance, marketing, computers and more. It includes access to the Wall Street Journal and information on over 60,000 companies. The user intereface is provided by ProQuest.

Business and Company Resource Center (1980-present; XLinks) contains detailed company and industry news and information. It is a fully integrated resource that brings together company profiles, brand information, rankings, investment reports, company histories, chronologies, and periodicals. It includes Ward's Business Directory and numerous other directories and encyclopedias, as well as Market Share Reporter (search for a company, select the Rankings tab, and then select Market Share). It is produced by Thomson/Gale and the user interface is provided by InfoTrac. This subscription permits only two simultaneous users.

Business Source Complete (some from 1886-present; updated daily; much full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides indexing and abstracts for the most important scholarly business journals. It contains far more peer-reviewed, business-related journals than any other database currently available. It contains searchable cited references for 1,200 journals and 20,000 detailed author profiles. It covers all subject areas related to business, including management, marketing, economics, finance, accounting, and international business. Additional full text, non-journal content includes financial data, books, major reference works, book digests, conference proceedings, case studies, investment research reports, product reviews, industry profiles (Datamonitor reports), market research reports, country reports, company profiles (including Life Science Analytics (LSA) company profiles from the MedTRACK database), and SWOT analyses. This database also includes 55 digital videos from the Harvard Business School Faculty Seminar Series. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

EconLibrary contains over 300,000 bibliographic references from 500 leading journals in business and economics. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by JLH Enterprises.

EconLit (1969-present; updated monthly; some full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides abstracts of journals, books, dissertations, and working papers about economics. It is produced by the American Economic Association and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

IFS (International Financial Statistics) (time series from 1948-present; all full-text) provides statistics on all aspects of international and domestic finance. It provides tabular data that can be displayed in spreadsheet format. It includes exchange rates, liquidity, money, banking, interest rates, prices, production, transactions, balance of payments, investment position, government finance, and national accounts. Insurance Periodicals Index (1965-present; much full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) indexes and abstracts over 200 insurance industry journals and magazines. It is useful for researchers in economics, social scientists, and insurance and government organizations. It features a controlled vocabulary of index terms which reflect current industry terminology. It was formerly produced by the NILS Publishing Co., Inc. in cooperation with the Insurance & Employee Benefits Division (IEBD) of the Special Libraries Association (SLA). Tthe user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

LexisNexis Academic (all full-text; RefWorks help) covers a wide variety of subjects including law, government, international affairs, politics, current events, business and medicine. Legal research provides federal and state cases, Shepard's citations, federal and state codes, tax law, Canadian court cases and legislation, law reviews, and patents. Business research allows users to create company profiles, lists, and comparisons, as well as SEC filings, account and country profiles. Company reports can be created and data can be downloaded into spreadsheets. The People tab allows users to find obituaries, elected officials, and industry contacts. Mergent Online (all full-text), formerly FIS Online, includes EDGAR documents, financial reports, industry reports by country, country profiles, company news and Moody's securities data. Industry reports include Asia Pacific, Europe and Latin American countries as well as those in North America. Each country's industry report includes a sector overview, leading companies, market outlook, sector performance, and mergers and acquisitions. Advanced searching permits users to target US, international, or private companies. It provides the ability to export company reports and financial data into Microsoft Excel, to search across multiple databases on different variables, and to compare reports of multiple companies. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Mergent.

Research Insight (campus only database; all full-text; tutorials for industry ratios & company reports), formerly Compustat, provides financial, statistical, and market data for U.S. and Canadian companies, business segments, geographic areas, and industry composites. It only includes information for publicly traded companies, both current and historical. It porvides 10 years of daily stock price data. Data can be exported and imported into MS Excel and is compatible with MS Vista & Office 2007. Produced by and the user interface provided by Standard & Poors. Users can access from any computer workstation (except laptops) in the library or in academic computing labs by clicking START | All Programs | Library Campus Databases.

Standard & Poors NetAdvantage (all full-text) is a resource for investment research and commentary. It includes Industry Surveys , Stock Reports, Mutual Fund Reports, Bond Reports, Corporation Records, The Register of Corporations, Directors and Executives, and The Outlook (1996-present). It contains news, credit ratings, indices, risk evaluation, investment research, data and valuations. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Standard & Poors.

Thomson ONE Banker (updated monthly; all full-text), formerly Thomson Research, Global Access, Disclosure and Compact Disclosure, this database provides research reports from over 980 leading firms and covers over 30,000 companies worldwide. It includes company profiles and spreadsheet-ready financials designed to your specifications. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Thomson Financial. This database does not work with the Firefox, Netscape or Safari browsers - use Internet Explorer. Upon loading this database may ask you to enable cookies and restart. Value Line Research Center (updated weekly; all full-text) includes access to leading investment publications covering stocks, mutual funds, daily options and convertible securities as well as special situation stocks. It contains ratings and reports on 1,700 companies and more than 90 industries, including stock rankings, screens, statistics, and the latest economic and market forecasts. World Development Indicators (WDI) Online (1960-2005; all full-text) provides direct access to over 600 development indicators with time series for 208 countries and 18 country groups from 1960-2005. Generated data can be imported into spreadsheets. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by the World Bank Group.

Business and Industry (1994-July 2006; much full-text; RefWorks help; video tutorial) covers company, product, and industry information, including manufacturing and service industries. Cabell's Directories provides full-text directory information for business, education and psychology journal publications. Each journal entry includes submission information (editor’s name, address, phone, fax, email, web address); publication guidelines (manuscript length, copies required, format, fees, style, computer submission); circulation data (reader type, frequency, number of subscribers, publisher, price); review information (type of reveiws, number of in-house and external reviewers, acceptance rate, time it takes to review, percent of invited articles, reviewers coments, publishing fees); manuscript topics included; and manuscript guidelines. LexisNexis Statistical Publications & DataSets (exportable data; users guide) includes datasets from many sources, including the US government, international organizations, and the private sector. It covers all subject areas, including banking and finance, criminal justice and law, education, energy resources and demand, food and agriculture, government and politics, health and vital statistics, housing and construction, industry and commerce, international; labor and employment, natural resources and environment, population and income, prices and cost of living, stocks and commodities, and transportation and travel. Users can search datasets by keyword; browse datasets by subject or source; display datasets by trend, map or ranking; and output datasets in print, PDF, delimited, Excel or SAS formats. Datasets can be limited by date and geographic area (country, state, county). Years available varies by dataset; for example, births 1999-present and breast cancer 1973-present. It also features datasets currently in the news, such as crude oil price, 30-year fixed mortgage rate, airline on-time arrival rate, campaign contributions for both Obama and McCain, gasoline prices, the prime rate and the unemployment rate. Oxford Scholarship Online: Economics & Finance (all full-text; XLinks; RefWorks help) is a cross-searchable collection of electronic books covering economics and finance. Worldwide authors include classic thinkers to modern masters, including twentieth century winners of the Nobel Prize for Economics and authors of the Clarendon series. Social Sciences Citation Index (SSCI) (ALTERNATIVE LINK; 1980-present; updated weekly; some full-text; RefWorks Help; tutorial; citation alerts; saving searches & creating alerts; journal titles) provides bibliographic information and cited references for over 1,700 social sciences journals. It covers anthropology, business, communication, demography, economics, education, ethnic studies, family studies, health policy, history, information & library science, international relations, law, management, nursing, political science, psychology, public administration, rehabilitation, social work, sociology, substance abuse, transportation, urban studies, women's studies. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI). Click Change Limits and Settings to search only this database. Click Register or Sign In to save searches and receive search history and citation alerts.
