XPLORE Library Catalog

access catalog. It includes all of the library's books, journals, audiovisuals, and microform materials. Search XPLORE
by keyword, author, title and Library of Congress subject heading. If you don't find what you need,
request it online ( printable instructions; video tutorial) from
OhioLINK, the combined library catalog of 88 college, university, public, and state libraries
in Ohio.
Use XPLORE to look up books, and to see whether or not we own a journal. You can also use XPLORE to check other library catalogs and to borrow books from other libraries using OhioLink.
OhioLINK
Library Catalog (updated daily; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides
access to more than 48 million items located at 89 college, university, public, and state libraries in Ohio. Users may request items
online ( printable instructions; video tutorial) and pick them up in 3 business days at an OhioLINK library of their
choosing. When available there are links to Read (full-text available) and Limited Preview (limited full-text available) at Google Books. It is produced by OhioLINK and the user interface is provided by Innovative
Interfaces, Inc.
OhioLINK provides a centralized database of the catalogs of most of the academic libraries in Ohio. Xavier students can request OhioLINK books online to be sent to Xavier's library.
Literature Databases
MLA International Bibliography (1926-present; updated 10 times/year;
some full-text; tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides a classified
listing and subject index for books, journal articles, and dissertations published on modern languages, literatures,
folklore, and linguistics. It is produced by the Modern Language Association of America and the
user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.
Women Writers Online (1400-1850; all full-text; XLinks) is an archive of works by
pre-Victorian women writers accompanied by contextual and topical essays. It is produced by and
the user interface is provided by the Women Writers Project at Brown University.
Historical Databases
America: History and Life (1964-present; updated quarterly; some full-text; tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks; title list) indexes and abstracts about 2,000 periodicals
published worldwide in history, related humanities and the social sciences. It covers the history and
culture of the United States and Canada from prehistory to the present. It includes citations to journal
articles, book reviews and relevant dissertations. Users can search cited references and browse Clio Notes, chronologies and brief summaries of significant events and themes in American history. It is produced by ABC-CLIO and the user interface is
provided by EBSCO Publishing.
Historical Abstracts (1955-present; updated 3 times per year; some full-text; tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) indexes and
abstracts over 2,000 international historical journals. It also includes selected
journals in the social sciences and humanities. It covers history from 1450 to
the present, but excludes US and Canadian history. Users can search cited references and browse Clio Notes, chronologies and brief summaries of significant events and themes in world history. It is produced by ABC-CLIO
and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.
