It includes all of the library's books, journals, audiovisuals, and microform materials. Search XPLORE by keyword, author, title and Library of Congress subject heading. If you don't find what you need, request it online (printable instructions; video tutorial) from OhioLINK, the combined library catalog of 88 college, university, public, and state libraries in Ohio.

OhioLINK Library Catalog (updated daily; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides access to more than 48 million items located at 89 college, university, public, and state libraries in Ohio. Users may request items online (printable instructions; video tutorial) and pick them up in 3 business days at an OhioLINK library of their choosing. When available there are links to Read (full-text available) and Limited Preview (limited full-text available) at Google Books. It is produced by OhioLINK and the user interface is provided by Innovative Interfaces, Inc.

English & Literature

Literary Reference Center (all full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) is a comprehensive literary reference database that provides a broad spectrum of reference information from antiquity to the present day. It combines information from over 1,000 books and monographs, major literary encyclopedias and reference works, and hundreds of literary journals. Search results can be limited to literary criticism or Masterplots. Users can browse most studied authors and works and view book highlights and the author in focus. Features include a glossary and historical timeline. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

Literature Resource Center (all full-text; XLinks) provides access to biographies, bibliographies and critical analysis of authors from every age and literary discipline. It covers more than 90,000 novelists, poets, essayists, journalists and other writers, with in-depth coverage of 2,000 of the most-studied authors. It includes online versions of Gale's Contemporay Authors, Contemporary Literary Criticism, and Dictionary of Literary Biography, as well as selections from Gale's other Literature Criticism and For Students Series, such as Nineteenth Century Literary Criticism and Short Stories for Students. It permits searches by author name, title, genre, literary movement or literary themes. It is produced by Thomson-Gale and the user interface is provided by InfoTrac.

General Purpose

Academic Search Complete (1985-present; updated daily; more full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) is a multidisciplinary database that covers nearly all academic areas of study, including social sciences, humanities, education, computer sciences, engineering, language, linguistics, the arts, literature, medical sciences and ethnic studies. It indexes and abstracts over 9,300 journals, many of them peer-reviewed (4,400), and provides full-text for over 5,300 journals. It also includes indexing and abstracts for books, reports, conference proceedings, etc. Searchable cited references are provided for 1,000 journals. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.

CQ Researcher (1991-present; all full-text; RefWorks help; XLinks) is the online version of the CQ Researcher print publication. It provides original, comprehensive reporting and analysis on issues in the news. Each issue discussed includes an abstract, overview, background, current situation, outlook, special focus, chronology, pro/con, bibliography, next step, contacts, and footnotes. Controversial topics are addressed in a balanced, unbiased manner. It is published by and the user interface is provided by CQ Press, a Division of Congressional Quarterly, Inc. This subscription is limited to 5 simultaneous users.

Psychology

PsycINFO (1967-present; updated weekly; some full-text; RefWorks help; video tutorial; saving searches) is the online version of the print resource, Psychological Abstracts. It provides abstracts and indexing to the scholarly journal articles, book chapters, books, dissertations, and technical reports in psychology, the behavioral sciences and mental health. It also covers topics related to psychology such as psychiatry, management, business, education, social science, neuroscience, law, medicine, and social work. Journal coverage includes more than 1,900 international periodicals written in over 24 languages. Current chapter and book coverage includes worldwide English-language material published from 1987-present. It is produced by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the user interface is provided by OhioLINK. Evidence-Based Practice Tip: To limit search results to articles with some level of evidence: Type your search strategy in the textboxes provided. At your search results, click All Limit Options (in the gray section). In the Methodology selectbox hold down the Ctrl key and click all methods that apply. Click the Limit Results Now button at the bottom of the page.

Psychology & Behavioral Sciences Collection (1984-present; much full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) provides indexing and abstracts from 1984-present for over 490 journals, many peer-reviewed, and full-text from 1990-present for 510 journals. It covers emotional and behavioral characteristics, psychiatry, psychology, mental processes, anthropology, and observational and experimental methods. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.
