Finding books, videos, magazines and journals
XPLORE Library Catalog
(tips & tricks;
RefWorks help; XLinks; video tutorials) is Xavier library's online public
access catalog. It includes all of the library's books, journals, audiovisuals, and microform materials. Search XPLORE
by keyword, author, title and Library of Congress subject heading. If you don't find what you need,
request it online (printable instructions; video tutorial) from
OhioLINK, the combined library catalog of 88 college, university, public, and state libraries
in Ohio.
XPLORE shows what books, videos, and journals, are available at Xavier. To see if Xavier has a journal, do a title search and enter the name of the journal. To find a video do a keyword or subject search and limit by Location: "audiovisual material" Click here for an example of videos on training.

You can request books directly using your XU All-Card. Check individual issues. Periodicals may be in paper, or microform or full-text. To check a journal title to see if full text is available go to JOURNALS @ XU. Finding Articles Selected databases: Use to find articles on a topic or by an author. Obtaining copies of articles in library databases Books & Articles Not at XU Articles not available at the Xavier Library can be ordered through Document Delivery. Fill out an article request form for each article that you want, filling in all the information. Online request forms are available from the Library's home page. Remember it can take 1-2 weeks to get an article through this service. You will be notified by email when materials borrowed through document delivery services arrive. Articles and other copied documents are delivered electronically. Your email notification message will contain an Internet addresss and password that you can use to retrieve your document. Please retrieve these electronic documents within two weeks. There is no charge for this service. Books that Xavier doesn't own can be ordered through OhioLINK using your all-card. This takes 3-5 days. Book not available from OhioLINK may be ordered from Document Delivery and may take 1-2 weeks.
