is a comprehensive guide to more than 5 million book reviews in thousands of publications.
It is produced by and the user interface is provided by Thomson/Gale. This subscription is limited to 2 simultaneous users.
Books in Print Professional (full-text reviews; RefWorks help) complete, unbiased bibliographic
information for over 5 million in-print, out-of-print, and forthcoming book, audio, and video titles. An online
version of the highly regarded print title, it features over
30,000 full-text previews; 140,000 tables of contents; and over 700,000 reviews of titles by over 200,000
publishers. It also includes cover images, author biographies and annotations.
The entry for each book includes the title, contributor, publication date, publisher, country of publication, market, ISBN, item status, binding format, edition, pages, price, also available through, language, Bowker subjects, general subjects, physical dimensions, other formats and additional publisher information. Some entries include a synopsis/annotation, full-text review, full-text preview and stock availability. It is produced by and the user interface is provided by R.R. Bowker.
Amazon.com is one of the largest commercial online sources for books, magazines, DVDs, videos, music, software, and more.

ACLS Humanities
eBook (all full-text; title list; XLinks), formerly the
History eBook Project, is an online, fully searchable digital collection of 1,500 high-quality books covering
all aspects of world history and many other humanities disciplines. Books in this database have been recommended
and reviewed by scholars. They are of major importance, remain vital to scholarship and are frequently cited in
the literature. Books may include illustrations, graphs, charts, and maps as well as video, sound and music.
Restrictions may apply to printing and downloading as specified in
Section 107 of the U. S. Copyright Law. It is produced by the American Council of Learned Societies (ACLS) in
collaboration with ten learned societies, about 80 contributing publishers, and librarians at the University of
Michigan’s Scholarly Publishing Office. The user interface is provided by ACLS. Users can also find these electronic books in XPLORE, the library's online catalog.
Historical Abstracts (new user interface; 1955-present; updated 3 times per year; some full-text; video tutorials; RefWorks help; XLinks) indexes and
abstracts over 2,000 international historical journals. It also includes selected
journals in the social sciences and humanities. It covers history from 1450 to
the present, but excludes US and Canadian history. Users can search cited references and browse Clio Notes, chronologies and brief summaries of significant events and themes in world history. It is produced by ABC-CLIO
and the user interface is provided by EBSCO Publishing.
Nineteenth Century
Masterfile (NCM) (1802-1920; updated quarterly; no full-text) was formerly called Poole's Plus and
covers the 19th century. It indexes periodicals, books, newspapers, and government documents. It includes the
Poole's Index to Periodical Literature (1802-1906), Jones and Chipman's Index to Legal Periodical Literature
(1786-1922), the Psychological Index (1894-1905), Richardson' Index to Periodical Articles in
Religion (1890-1899), Stead's Index to Periodicals (1890-1906), Cumulative Index to Selected List of
Periodicals (1896-1899), Catalog of Scientific Papers - Mechnaics, Physics, Mathematics (1800-1900),
New Yort Times Index (1863-1905), New York Daily Tribune Index (1875-1906), Palmer's Index to the
Times (1880-1890), Index to the Oregon Spectator (1846-1854). It is produced by and the user interface
is provided by Paratext Resource.
New
York Times Historical Database (1851-within four years of the present;
all full-text; updated annually; RefWorks
help; XLinks) contains full-page and article images of every page of every issue,
cover to cover, in downloadable PDF. It includes ads, comics, cartoons, photos,
maps and other graphics. It is produced by the New York Times and the user interface
is provided by ProQuest.
