Remember to use several databases and use synonyms for your topic!
Remember to use the online thesaurus if available. Otherwise use synonyms for your topic. HINT: try using the keyword "empirical" and your topic. Also try the keyword "research" and your topic.
Use the online thesaurus for better results. Not all databases have a thesaurus.
Some hints searching the ERIC and PsycINFO databases
Remember: ERIC includes articles (EJ) and ERIC documents (ED). Use the "Find It! " feature to see if Xavier has the ERIC journals. Some of the ED documents from 1993-present are available full-text.
If you need an ERIC document that is not full-text, then request it from Document Delivery
You can limit just to journal articles.. This is listed under the search box.
Hint: Use the code 2260 (Research methods and experimental design)
Example: group-dynamics and 2260.cc.
Be sure to use the "Find It! " feature in most of the databases to check to see if Xavier has the journal. Be sure to look to see if it is available full-text above where is says "Xavier University has".
