Illuminated TextArchival materials may be subject to disposal for various reasons: deterioration of a collection, original formats converted to a longer lasting format, etc.

Special collections materials are rarely removed, but when they are they follow the guidelines below.

No materials are withdrawn from archives and special collections without the prior consent of the donating entity, if possible, and the approval of the Library Director.

In those cases where materials were accepted from a non-Xavier donor, restrictions placed upon the item at the time of acquisition will be honored.

Any items sold will be sold at fair market value with the proceeds benefiting the Xavier University. No materials will be sold to or otherwise acquired by an archives and special collections staff member or other Xavier employee.
