Learning Assistance Center

Services Provided

Learning Assistance provides services to meet the individual needs of students with disabilities. Based on the student's documentation of disability,  we recommend services, accommodations and auxiliary aids and the student then selects what he or she needs for specific classes, situations and personal needs. General services may include:

  • Specialized adapted equipment and technical assistance
  • Disability counseling and advocacy
  • Support groups
  • Study Guide Workshops for help with Learning Strategies
  • Trained peer tutors
  • Help with getting taped textbooks
  • Note takers or access to class notes
  • Sign language interpreters
  • Registration and orientation consultation and assistance
  • Diagnostic testing for learning disabilities
  • Family consultation
  • Faculty/staff consultation
  • Exam accommodations
