Office of International Student Services
 

Mission

The mission of the Office of International Student Services is to assist international and other students in achieving their educational goals and to provide opportunities for growth through cross-cultural interaction.  The office provides orientation, adjustment services, information dissemination, programming activities, and serves as an advocate for international students as well as other students. 
 

The Romero International Center

The office is in the Romero International Center, located on the second floor of  the Gallagher Student Center.  Students come to the Romero International Center to get assistance with their concerns, to participate in scheduled activities, to check their e-mail, eat lunch, or to visit with other students.  Office hours are: 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. 
 

Staff 

Lea M. Minniti, Director

Lea has worked in the international office since December 2005.  Before starting at Xavier, she spent three years working with refugees, asylees and recent immigrants to the Cincinnati area.  She is a graduate of Xavier University with a degree in Theology and minors in Spanish and Peace Studies.  Lea has lived in Nicaragua and Spain. 
 

Shoshannah McKinney, International Student Specialist
 
Shoshannah McKinney began working in OISS in July 2007. Before coming to Xavier, she taught English to university students in China for four years. She received her BS in Mathematics Education from Huntington University in Huntington, Indiana and is nearing the completion of her MA in TESOL from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa,
CA.

Adrianna Zec, Graduate Assistant

Adrianna began working in OISS in 2006. Adrianna completed her undergraduate work at the University of  Toronto, with a major in History and an honors degree in Psychology.  While in Toronto, Adrianna spent two years as a Resident Advisor, helping students to acclimate to University life. She comes to Xavier from Canada to pursue her doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
