International Student Orientation (ISO)


Mandatory for All New International Students on the F-1 or J-1 Visa

The US Department of Homeland Security requires that all new international students and scholars check-in and register at their new school.  You will be complying with this law by attending the mandatory International Student Orientation (ISO).  All new international students on the F-1 or J-1 visas joining Xavier as an Exchange, Intensive English Program (IEP), Graduate, Transfer, or Undergraduate student should plan to arrive early to attend the ISO.  Please remember to bring along your Passport, US Visa, and your I-20 or DS-2019 when you attend the ISO.        


Dates & Schedule

  •  International Student Orientation (ISO)
    • Wednesday, January 6th
      Students who are living on-campus in the Residence Halls may move in from 9:00am to 5:00pm. Residence Halls will not be open for early or late arrivals. Please make necessary accommodations, if you will arrive before or after this time. 
    • Thursday, January 7th 
      Mandatory International Student Orientation for all incoming international students for Spring 2016. 

      Check-in at the Center for International Education in Gallagher Student Center, room 230 at 8:30am. Light breakfast will be provided. 

      All students in the Intensive English Program will take an English placement test at 9:30am in Hailstones Hall II. 

      Plan to stay for entire duration of the orientation till 4:00pm. Please bring your passport, I-20, and Medical history form. 
    • Friday, January 8th 
      Optional Activity: Cincinnati Art Museum | More details to be announced. 
    • Monday, January 11th
      First day of Classes for all degree, exchange, and BSMP international students. 
      Intensive English Program (IEP) students will meet today and go over their class schedule (more details TBA).
