INTERNATIONAL PHOTO CONTEST

The annual international photo contest showcases international photos taken by students. Many submitted photos were taken during Xavier sponsored study abroad programs. This year marks the sixth annual international photo contest. Photos that constitute the “best of the past five years” will be selected and displayed in the Faces of the World Lounge (2nd floor, Gallagher Student Center) in February of each year. The Xavier community will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite and a prize will be awarded to the winning photographer!

PHOTO CONTEST RULES

  • The annual International Photo Contest is open to current Xavier students (graduate, undergraduate, exchange, and ESL).
  • All photos must have been taken outside the United States.
  • In general, photos should exhibit high technical and artistic merit, and a sense of cultural representation.
  • Images must have been taken by the person submitting the entry.
  • A maximum of five (5) images may be submitted per person.
  • The Xavier community will be able to vote on the top five images to determine the winner.
  • The finalist photos will be exhibited at WorldQuest.
  • The winner will be announced in March 2012.
  • Selected photographs from the finalists will be displayed in the Faces of the World Lounge (2nd floor, Gallagher Student Center) during the spring semester and will be included in a web exhibit. In addition, some selected photos may continue to be displayed on campus.
  • Prints chosen as finalists will become the property of Xavier Universityand may be used in publications, on its website or displayed in public areas.
