Welcome to the new Inside Xavier. We're now a monthly special section of Today at Xavier. Our new format allows us to focus attention more completely on you, the faculty and staff. You'll notice that our Xavier Faces profiles—in this instance, Amanda Odom, marketing and communications coordinator for the Xavier Leadership Center, and Michael Rimler, economics professor for the Williams College of Business and Ultimate Frisbee coach—are now complemented by the new employee-recognition section. We also include links to new hires, faculty and staff accomplishments, and a favorite Grow XU column. Send us your thoughts or suggestions.
Inside Xavier is pleased to introduce the University’s new monthly Employee Recognition Program, which publicly recognizes individuals who consistently reflect our Jesuit mission in terms of being men and women for others, consistently go the extra mile in their efforts and consistently put Xavier’s interests ahead of their own. This honor is part of a larger initiative of the President’s Administrative Council to better inform, connect and recognize faculty, staff and administrators throughout the institution. Honorees are selected by the President's Cabinet. If you would like to nominate someone for employee recognition, fill out our nomination form.
Tom Merrill, Chair of the Department of Music and Director for Choral Activities
Tom Merrill’s steadfast efforts to increase the visibility of Xavier’s music program, his work on the new Alma Mater song, and the multitude of campus events where his expertise, talent and creativity are constantly sought, combined with his willingness to be a part of these important events are just a few of the reasons for his selection. And that’s before you add the individual attention Merrill gives to his students and his work in the greater community.
Annette Marksberry, Information Resources Projects and Programs Manager
Annette Marksberry’s work as director of projects and planning for the Division of information Resources has shown her to be a dedicated employee. In her humble and unassuming manner, she goes beyond her regular duties and responsibilities to take on substantial responsibility in organizing and managing vital projects and initiatives within the division and across the University.
If you know a fellow employee who goes above and beyond to make
Xavier a better place for all, be sure to nominate him or her.
